Inspired by the women who came before you, the Edie Camisole is a modern interpretation of Edwardian Era corset covers. Edie is intended to be worn, hand washed, and reworn until you can pass it down as your own heirloom. She is the romantic summertime basic missing from your closet!
The pattern features optional insertion lace and puffing (View A), a lace strap and bodice option (View B), as well as a fabric only option (View C). Each view is a unique interpretation of the pattern and provides a different look and teaches a new skill set. The camisole features a button front as well as a drawstring waist. The drawstring sits a the natural waist and creates a cute peplum at the bottom of the camisole that can be worn buttoned up or open for a split peplum look.
Sizes 0-22
Made for you! There is a 5 page hacking guide at the end of the instructions so you can make endless versions.
Difficulty: 3 out of 5
Because of the gathers, Views A and C are the most complicated and require precision, but View B could easily be accomplished by a beginner. This is a great pattern to grow with!
Recommended Fabrics:
The Edie Camisole is best suited for very lightweight to lightweight fabrics with a moderate drape. Cotton lawn and voile are good choices, and fabrics that are 70 gsm-110 gsm. Fabrics that are heavier will result in a less professional looking garment, and you may struggle to keep the gathers in place during construction.
Other Notions Required:
-Fabric, thread
-6-7 Buttons (11mm)
-Lightweight fusible interfacing
-Starch (optional)
-Insertion lace (View A only)
-2” wide crochet lace (View B only) You can use any size, but keep in mind you will need to adjust the length of the pattern to accommodate!
